all tools and equipment used by Howmet for this qualification had a valid calibration cert.

The text from the attachment is below.

We have a dedicated calibration engineer, who maintains our calibration records with all gauges identified by a unique reference number, to our procedures (NBS241 – “Calibration of Gauges and Tools”). We report on a daily basis the number of gauges logged as due calibration and those required before the end of the calendar month. In this way all managers are kept aware of any issues with regard of gauges that are either out of calibration or cannot be located for calibration. A snapshot of which is given below for the month of May, please note that one month of leeway for calibration dates is allowed for in our system. At the end of the month I am required to report to corporate HQ any gauges that are out of calibration, for example in the month of May one Gauge exist that is out of calibration, this is held by an employee who is on long term sick and is not available for use so was considered sufficiently quarantined. By vigilant control and monitoring we ensure all gauges used in both production and inspection are maintained within calibration.
