  1. QTR, list of standards.
    EN2754 is missing.

    QTR, clause 1.5
What standard has been applied for converting HV5 into HRC?

    QTR, clauses 6.1.1 and 6.1.2
Why do we have only 4 nuts tested?
From my point of view, ISO5858, clause 5.6.1 states that 8 nuts shall be tensile tested at 80% and 8 nuts shall be tensile tested at 100% for qualification (after being exposed to the maximum operating temperature for 6 h, as note “h” says).

    QTR, clause 6.2
Torque to be applied for torque-out test is as per ISO5858, table 7, not table 5.
As per table 7, torque to be applied is 9 N.m instead of 7,2 N.m.
(Nut made of steel, alloy steel or stainless steel)

    QTR, clause 6.4.2.1
Why do we have 0,5 N.m for minimum breakaway torque at 1st cycle?
This value is applicable for the single-cycle test at ambient temperature.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Have a good day.
    Julien

    1. Dear Julien,
      -QTR, list of standards.
=> EN2754 is missing => on page 1 it’s well indicated “qualified par product standard EN2754 & ISO5858”, and stdd norm EN2754 is integrated into Qualification Test Report n°8671C.

      -QTR, clause 1.5
What standard has been applied for converting HV5 into HRC?
HFS SCO answer is “Internal porocedure”, otherwise into 25CD4 specification the table referring to hardness indicates well the same values in HRC and in HV5.

      -QTR, clauses 6.1.1 and 6.1.2
tensile tested at 80% and 8 nuts shall be tensile tested at 100% for qualification (after being exposed to the maximum operating temperature for 6 h, as note “h” says) = YES – results have been updated, see enclosed the last issue of QTR n°8671C.

      -QTR, clause 6.2
Torque to be applied for torque-out test is as per ISO5858, table 7, not table 5.
As per table 7, torque to be applied is 9 N.m instead of 7,2 N.m.
(Nut made of steel, alloy steel or stainless steel)
=> YES – results have been updated, see enclosed the last issue of QTR n°8671C.

      -QTR, clause 6.4.2.1
Why do we have 0,5 N.m for minimum breakaway torque at 1st cycle?
This value is applicable for the single-cycle test at ambient temperature
=> YES – this test is required according to ISO5858 §5.6.7.2.2 but not needed for qualification, only for reception. It has been deleted by HFS SCO, see enclosed the last issue of QTR n°8671C.
