On ASD-CERT website, at the top of the page, it is written “EN3042” in section “Technical specification and pub. date”. Could you please replace by ISO5858?
QTR, clause 1.4.1. FPI has been performed, but, in mfg flow chart, this is MPI which is mentioned. FPI or MPI can be done on these nuts (low-alloyed steel, magnetic). Could you please confirm which method has been performed for surface discontinuities detection?
QTR, clauses 6.1.1 and 6.1.2
Why do we have only 4 nuts tested?
From my point of view, ISO5858, clause 5.6.1 states that 8 nuts shall be tensile tested at 80% and 8 nuts shall be tensile tested at 100% for qualification (after being exposed to the maximum operating temperature for 6 h, as note “h” says).
QTR, clause 6.2. Torque to be applied for torque-out test is as per ISO5858, table 7, not table 5.
As per table 7, torque to be applied is 9 N.m instead of 7,2 N.m.
(Nut made of steel, alloy steel or stainless steel)
QTR, clause 6.4.2.1
Why do we have 0,5 N.m for minimum breakaway torque at 1st cycle?
This value is applicable for the single-cycle test at ambient temperature.
Many thanks in advance,
Have a good day.
Julien
EN3042 was cancelled and replaced by ISO 5858
QTR Clause 1.4.1 : Surface discontinuities was checked by MPI instead of FPI due to the fact that the parts are in alloy steel. QTR will be updated.
QTR Clause 6.1.1 & 6.1.2 : In the QTR tests were performed on 8 nuts, 4 nuts at room temperature at 80 % and 4 nuts after baking at the maximum temperature at 100 %. ISO 5858 is confusing because it requests 8 nuts, quantity of sampling is not very clear we can interpretate 4 samples for each tensile test, total 8 samples or 8 samples for each tests; not clear.
The test report in order to avoid any interpretation tests were performed on 8 nuts at room temperature at 80 % and 8 nuts at 100 % after baking. the QTR will be updated.
QTR Clause 6.2 : Agree it is a mistake, parts were retested and results are compliant. QTR will be updated.
QTR Clause 4.6.2.1 : It is a typo error. QTR will be updated.
How can we send you the QTR updated ? because we cannot load it through the ASD-Cert System. Thanks for your reply.
Regards.

All is clear now.
For updated QTR, is it possible to correct the title as follows?
8638B-5JSMF50209M-ISO5858
Many thanks.
