  1. In « particular remark » and “conclusions” sections, could you please replace EN5858 by ISO5858?
At the top of website page, could you please replace “EN3042” by ISO5858” in Technical Specification box?

In QTP as well as in ISO5858, clause 5.1.5, the hardness of the finished nuts shall be within the limits specified in the definition document for the nut or in the material standard.
In QTR, it is written “no requirement”.
The requirement 390 – 430 HV5 in QTP comes from material standard (EN2542 or EN2543).
    Could you please clarify?

    Many thanks.
    Regards.

    1. The confusion of EN and ISO in the “Particular remarks” and “Conclusions” has been corrected.

Clause 5.1.5 in the ISO5858 provides a choice.
      • The hardness of the finished nut shall be within the limits specified in the definition document for the nut (In this case EN4084, Edition 1, date 06/1993).
      OR
      • In the material standard (In this case used EN2542: 2008).

In the QTR it has been chosen to use the definition document (EN4084). In this document there are no “Requirements” for the hardness of the nut.
Because the QTR is based on:
“Qualified per product standard” is stated EN4084, Edition 1, date 06/1993 and the Technical Specifications ISO5858, 11/1999 (see QTR page 1 of 41)

Is the statement in the QTR completely correct: “No requirements”.

In order to additionally demonstrate that the material of the nut nevertheless complies with the requirements of EN2542: 2008 (between 390 and 430 HV5), hardness measurements were carried out with the result 404 to 423 HV5 (page 9 of 41 of the QTR) which is within the specifications of EN2542: 2008.

      Regards
      Kees

  2. Thank you very much for these corrections and clarification.
    Approved on my side.
    Regards.
