Reusability Test as per NF EN4048:2004: If I am not mistaken, for qualification, reusability test at ambient temperature, requires fifteen cycles. In the English and German versions, it is written five cycles at ambient temperature for qualification. In my opinion, the right value for reusability at ambient temperature for qualification is fifteen. Indeed, aerospace self-locking nuts are usually qualified for fifteen cycles (for locking torques, breakaway torques…). Actually, if we consider ISO8642, which is the Test Methods standard called by EN4048, we can read in §3.8: “(..)2) for the fifteen cycle test”. So, do we consider 5 or 15 cycles reusability test at ambient temperature for qualification ? Thank you. Kind regards.
