Reusability test – 12 cycles:
As per EN3299:2019, clause B.1, mandrel or ring used for this 12 cycle test shall be made of A286 stainless steel, uncoated.
In QTR, this mandrel or ring is made of steel.
In QTR/QTP, EN3299:2007 has been considered. In this one, mandrel or ring shall be made of steel for one cycle or 12 cycle test.
Thus, which of these two editions of EN3299 has to be taken into account according to manufacturing date (manufacturing lot number “OF 14041324”)?
We can notice that raw material (A286 bars) was delivered in December 2019.
Latest version of EN3299 has been released in December 2019.
Many thanks in advance,
Regards.
QTP and QTR indicated as Technical Specification (TS) the EN3299:2007.
Howmet agrees the TS EN3299-2019 was released in December 2019 that’s no discussion.
But between the released date of the TS and the availability of the TS for the manufacturer is a time gap.
Due to the fact that the beginning of the “Shaft-nut” (EN3728-022) manufacturing was planned in December 2019 and the TS release EN3299-2019 was not yet available the EN3299-2007 has been used as TS.

Thank you for this explanation and I agree with it.
Qualification approved on my side.
