  1. Conditions for MCR qualification (ACP-008) of EN2648-050 washers to be used with EN2647 nuts under ISO 5858 technical specification:
    • Several NADCAP certificates have expired; please update ASD-CERT with valid certificates.
    • PQ 421 does not seem to be the appropriate PQ. PQ 421 only mentions EN2647-050 nut and does not mention its associated washer EN2648-050. Please correct this error because EN2647-050 nut is associated to its EN2648-050 washer. They cannot be separated in the PQ.
    • There is an error in the QTP. It states that EN2648 is a nut instead of a washer. Please correct the QTP.
    • Has the EN2647-050 nuts been qualified along with its EN2648-050 washers for this MCR? Please provide evidence of this to ASD-CERT giving the information that the nut has been already qualified for this MCR. Both nut and washer are concerned by this MCR to subcontract all the surface treatments outside Saint Cosmes. They cannot have separated MCR.
    • Please provide ASD-CERT with photos giving the cadmium plating thickness for the washer in the QTR like for adhesion.
    • Paragraph 3 of the QTR – surface condition. It states “nuts” instead of “washers”. Was the surface condition applicable to the washers? The Photo indicates that it is for washers. Please confirm.
    • Same remark for paragraph 4 of the QTR – conclusion. Please confirm that it is applicable for the washers.
    • Material : please provide a statement of equivalence between Howmet SAM0014 material specification and the EN specifications called in EN2648 drawing.
    • No photo of the marking as per EN2424 is shown for this washer. Please provide ASD-CERT with a photo of the marking.
    • No dimensional report is shown in the QTR for the washer. Is it impacted by this MCR?
    • Photos of the labelling and packaging of these washers should be provided to ASD-CERT for production acceptance. Please provide an explanation why it is not done.

      ==> Done

      ==> Customers never order the nuts and the self aligning washers at the same time. In addition, the quantities ordered are never the same. This is the reason why the 2 qualifications have never been done simultaneously.
      If the ASD cert requires that the qualifications of the nuts and the self aligning washers must be made simultaneously in this case ASD / STAN must modify these 2 standards into only one which integrates at the same time the nut and the self aligning washer. For your information AIRBUS do that for its own standards. But in this case, it will imply the simultaneous delivery of the same quantity of nuts and self aligning washers because in this case it is only one reference and not 2 references.
      For information an ACP008 dossier was submitted for the nut EN 2647-050 (file 762). This MCR is managed by A. DIAZ.

      • There is an error in the QTP. It states that EN2648 is a nut instead of a washer. Please correct the QTP.
      ==> See enclosed the QTP EN2648-050 ( ACP008) 031821

      ==> As explained above a MCR was submitted for the nut (see dossier 762 ) , it is in qualification process at ASD/CERT.

      • Please provide ASD-CERT with photos giving the cadmium plating thickness for the washer in the QTR like for adhesion.
      ==> See picture enclosed paragraph 2.3 page 5 of the QTR 8856A -5JRO80009-ISO5858.

      • Paragraph 3 of the QTR – surface condition. It states “nuts” instead of “washers”:
      ==> Nuts was a typo on the QTR template. It was corrected see QTR 8856A -5JRO80009-ISO5858 enclosed.
      Was the surface condition applicable to the washers? ==> Yes it is
      The Photo indicates that it is for washers. Please confirm. ==> We confirm that the surface condition is applicable to the washers.

      • Same remark for paragraph 4 of the QTR – conclusion. Please confirm that it is applicable for the washers.
      ==> Nuts was a typo on the QTR template. It was corrected see QTR 8856A -5JRO80009-ISO5858 enclosed. We confirm that the surface condition is applicable to the washers.
      • Material : please provide a statement of equivalence between Howmet SAM0014 material specification and the EN specifications called in EN2648 drawing.
      ==> The CoC of the raw material included in the QTR ( see file PF019892) refers to the SAM0014 ( see file enclosed SAM0014) which is linked to the EN specifications called in EN2648 drawing. The EN specifications and the links between the documents were highlight in yellow.

      • No photo of the marking as per EN2424 is shown for this washer. Please provide ASD-CERT with a photo of the marking.
      ==> See paragraph 9 of QTR 8856A -5JRO80009-ISO5858 enclosed.

      • No dimensional report is shown in the QTR for the washer. Is it impacted by this MCR? ==> Surface treatment has no impact on the dimensions of the washers.

      • Photos of the labelling and packaging of these washers should be provided to ASD-CERT for production acceptance. Please provide an explanation why it is not done.
      ==> Washers will be packaged in a plastic bag with the label below :
      See photo attached on additional documents.

      For all MCR qualifications performed since the fire in June 2019, we never included these data in the QTR.
