QTR, clauses 6.1.1 and 6.1.2
Why do we have only 4 nuts tested?
From my point of view, ISO5858, clause 5.6.1 states that 8 nuts shall be tensile tested at 80% and 8 nuts shall be tensile tested at 100% for qualification (after being exposed to the maximum operating temperature for 6 h, as note “h” says).
QTR, clause 6.3.2.1
In ISO5858, we have a note “m” to say that locking torque test over 15 cycles is lowered to 5 cycles for this kind of nut. So, we consider 5 cycles test instead of 15, no issue about that.
Why do we have 2,4 N.m for minimum breakaway torque at 1st cycle?
This value is applicable for the single-cycle test at ambient temperature.
QTR, clause 6.3.2.2
Why do we have 2,4 N.m for minimum breakaway torque at 1st cycle?
This value is applicable for the single-cycle test at ambient temperature.
Many thanks in advance,
Best regards.
Julien
On ASD-CERT website, at the top of the page, it is written “EN9133” in section “Technical specification and pub. date”. Could you please replace by ISO5858?
QTR Clauses 6.3.2.1 & 6.3.2.2 : in the QTR tests were performed on 8 nuts, 4 nuts at room temperature at 80 % and 4 nuts after baking at the maximum temperature at 100 %. ISO 5858 is confusing because it request 8 nuts, quantity of sampling is not very clear we can be interpreted 4 samples for each tensile test, total 8 samples for each tests; not clear. The test report in order to avoid any interpretation test were performed on 8 nuts at room temperature at 80 % and 8 nuts at 100 % after baking. The QTR will be updated.
QTR8434A, clauses 6.3.2.1 and 6.3.2.2:
We still have 2,4 N.m for minimum breakaway torque at 1st cycle.
This value is applicable for the single-cycle test at ambient temperature.
It is not really important since minimum breakaway torque requirement is 1,2 N.m for all cycles, but something to confirm/clarify.
Many thanks in advance,
Best regards.
Julien
Thank you very much for your speed.
It is clear for me now (by considering QTR N°8434B in QTR section).
Qualification approved on my side.
Best regards.
