    Surface Coating Process Qualification Transfer “Bolt” Low Steel Alloy

    1. The report has to be signed by Lisi Quality Authority

    2. Para 1 Subject
    The qualification transfer of “surface coating” was performed on EN 4079-050010A bolt to EN 2133.
    EN2133 and EN 4079 required “Cadmium Plating and not “Silver plating” as written in the report.
    What process was subject for the qualification. Para. 1 has to be adapted.
    Please take note that EN 4079 is inactive for new design: Please provide a statement in the report that this is well known but the surface treatment tests is accepted due to the surface coating on of the thread, shaft and the 100° cone head shoulder.
    In addition the surface coating has to be qualified to EN 2133 (Issue P3, March 2019) and not to ISO 7689 as mentioned in the para. 3 of the Lisi report.

    3. Para 4.1 Microstructure
    The measurement of the thickness has nothing to do with “Microstructure”
    A micro-section with photos should be added to see the microstructure.

    4. Para 4.2 Adhesion test
    The answer is insufficient. The Coating is performed to EN2133.
    EN2133 requires under para 14.1.2 a detailed adhesion test. This has to performed, because this is a periodical (Monthly) test requirement (ref table 3 of EN 2133).
    Test results shall be documented with photos.

    5. Para 4.X Salt Spray test (missing)
    This test has to performed, because this is also a periodical (Monthly) test requirements (ref, table 3 of EN2133)
    Test results has to be documented with photos.

      I am replying on behalf of Lisi Aerospace. They sent the following reply in French:
      1. Report signed on page 5 by LISI AEROSPACE
      2. Typo error in the report, the Cadmium Plating has been performed, not the Silver plating. See Issue 2 of the report. See also qualification report on cadmium plating according to specification EN2133.
      3. The measurement of the thickness is done on a micro section, hence its report in this section. See qualification report on cadmium plating according to specification EN2133.
