  1. In EN4178-050 CoC, manufacturing date closure is 30/12/16 whereas EN4178 revision date is 15/04/17.
How can we explain that? Do we have to consider some modifications done in EN4178:2017?
On ASD-CERT website, in “standards issue” section, only EN4178 (1999) is mentioned whereas in CoCs (some of them), in PFC, EN4178:2017 is mentioned.

For EN4178-040, is it possible to get more information about recess removal torque test? (Applied torque)

FPI: just a reminder that sample sizes are not in line with ISO9152 (and ISO2859-1) but these batches were manufactured before ASD-CERT communication on this topic.

PFC: could you please confirm that hydrogen content check is carried out after coating? (Mainly after sulfuric acid anodizing which is a source of hydrogen).
PFC: we have two alternatives. Which one shall be considered for qualification of each diameter?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Best regards.

** In such cases, we definitely make revision reviews ans check whether it has any affect on product. while the EN4178 2014 revision was only English, French explanation were added to the 2017 revision. It has no effect on the product.

** I will ask to Phil to fixed the EN4178 (1999).

** We applied the torque value as 3,6 Nm and axial load (45 ± 2,5) N.
FPI: just a reminder that sample sizes are not in line with ISO9152 (and ISO2859-1) but these batches were manufactured before ASD-CERT communication on this topic.

      ** Ok.
PFC: could you please confirm that hydrogen content check is carried out after coating? (Mainly after sulfuric acid anodizing which is a source of hydrogen).

**In the past we apllied this before coating some of batch (such as Batches# 764338 and 764340)
We applied Hydrogen content after coating on batches#777595, 786593.
Now we do all of them after coating.

PFC: we have two alternatives. Which one shall be considered for qualification of each diameter?
      Many thanks in advance,

**I couldn’ t understand what we have two alternatives for.

      Best regards.

  2. Many thanks for replying quickly.
Last remaining topic: which one of these two PFCs has been used for manufacturing these screws? From my point of view, only PFC used for manufacturing these screws shall be considered.
    Best regards.

    1. Automatic and Manuel Forging can be changed according to the quantity and diameter of the batches. As in the other QTRs, we have to put both Flowcharts .

      Nuray.

  3. Many thanks for your reply.
Thus, the presence of both PFCs is due to industrial undertaking.
    Best regards.
