  1. I would like to take advice (from Phil Edwards or others) on Arconic claiming that the attached extract taken from EN4128 para 6.4 is also applicable to the hardness test (or not?).
Arconic acknowledged making some mistakes & downgraded their mechanical tests plus the hardness limit.
Q- Are the hardness values presented by Arconic for this part acceptable?

I ask because an adjustment for hardness is not mentioned anywhere in the product standard or Tech spec, so why would Arconic claim the hardness should be different to the Tech Spec’n ISO9154? The TS requires 44HRC min. I would normally assume the hardness values would not be impacted by the coefficient mentioned for tensile & shear tests as in para 6.4. because the Prod St’d does not state it.

If Arconic is correct, and the hardness can be different to the Tech Spec this is not clear to users.
If Arconic is mistaken, this qual’n is not compliant & the true HRC hardness values should be recorded.
    See EN & Arconic report.

I await advice from Auditor (none to date) or other expert before I can accept Arconic’s explanation.
