Why a penetrant testing certificate issued by Safran has been uploaded whereas these bolts have been magnetic particle inspected?
Do we have the same kind of qualification for MPI?
When MPI has been carried out during the process? Before cadmium plating or after?

I made a mistake with Safran ‘s qualification. There is not MPI qualificatio on it.
Concerning the MPI, we d not have qualification yet but we planned an Airbus qualification for the end of the year.
Nevetheless, all our operators are certified level 2 by COFREND. We also have annualy validiaction by a COFREND level 3.

The MPI was performed before the cadmium coating.
The MPI have been performed before the surface treatment. It is the standard process in the AHG shop for those kind of controls.
The following has been added to the Recommendation/Reserves section.
Currently AHG are without a NADCAP approval or an OEM approval for their MPI process. However all AHG operators are certified level 2 by COFREND and also have annually validation by a COFREND level 3.
AHG are currently waiting for an Airbus audit of their MPI process which will confirm the process meets Airbus requirements. this audit will then satisfy requirements of the ASD-Cert’s quality manual and allow this process to be used on EN parts.
This is due to take place in 2022 and following the conclusion of this audit, AHG must report the results of the Audit to ASD-Cert. If there are any issues or AHG Fail the audit, then PQ460 will be suspended.
A review by ASD-Cert will take place in January to make sure this requirement has been completed. if AHG have not or cannot provide the required data then PQ460 will again be suspended till the data is received.
The Conclusion section as also been updated along with the comment section (which not confirms The MPI have been performed before the surface treatment. It is the standard process in the AHG shop for those kind of controls.
