  1. QTR:
Self-locking torque at ambient temperature: maybe add 12 N.m minimum for the first cycle only.
Self-locking torque after baking: maybe add 12 N.m minimum for the first cycle only.
GALION’s CoC indicates a silver thickness between 5 to 10 µm whereas EN4396 requirement is 5 to 15 µm on external surfaces and 5 µm minimum on pitch diameter.
Actual values are in line with EN4396 and above 10 µm on external surface, but below 15 µm.
    How can we explain that?
Clause 8: could you please remove ISO5858 and replace it by EN3299?

PFC: could you please correct technical specification issue?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Best regards.

    1. Dear Julien,
please find below the feedback from HOWMET St-Cosme,
Concerning the coating thickness, the HOWMET St-Cosme internal requirement of 5 to 10µm is effectively more restrictive than the EN 4396 standard, in order to limit the excess thicknesses in the thread and to better control the locking torque. Considering the geometry of the parts, the silver bath has very good penetration, which is less true on standard nuts.
The values measured on the external surfaces above 10µm in the QTR 8895 were measured on a micrographic section while the values given by the Galion certificate are measured by XRay, hence the measurement deviations. However, these values comply with the requirements of standard EN4396.

The QTR is being modified and / or in signature process, as soon as I receive it I will send it to you and update ASD Cert Qualification report.

      1. Dear Julien,
QTR has been updated according to the remarks.
Can you please check it ?
I stay available if you need to discuss a specific point.
        Many thanks in advance,
        Best regards.

  2. Dear Sébastien,
Everything is fine for me now, so, approved on my side.
    Many thanks for your speed!
    Best regards.
    Julien
