Passivation:
Initial qualification (1485): passivation certificates show AMS2700, method 1, type 2.
In this qualification, solid film lubricant records mention AMS2700, method 1, type 2 or 6.
Thus, here, method 1, type 6 can be used as well, but initially, only type 2 was mentioned.
Could you please clarify?
In addition, as per AMS2700, table 4, method 1, type 6 is not recommended for both AISI 440C (inner ring / ball material) and 17-4PH (outer ring / race).
Even though AMS2700 table 4 is just a recommendation and not a requirement, what are your thoughts on it?
