  1. Mfg route: apparently, passivation process corresponds to “cleaning machine” and carried out as per ISO8075 annex A.
However, surface treatment certificate (ASNA2121, diameter code 04) indicates that passivation was done as per AMS2700, method 1, type 6.
    Could you please harmonize?
    Many thanks in advance,

  2. Hi Julien

    Thanks for your comment.

The manufacturing route only applies to EN4613 and not ASNA, as EN4613 is the only Part Number listed with various codes.

I believe the scope of approval for this retrospective qualification applies to EN part numbers only, and therefore I didn’t request the ASNA Manufacturing route.

The ASNA parts are there because it was Airbus who set the qualification program and I can only accept what retrospective qualification reports occurred at the time.

As we wont be approving the ASNA parts, do we need to apply conditions when it involves ASNA bearings?

    Thanks

    Marko

  3. Hi Marko,

I agree with you. Concerning passivation, other qualifications (especially, one or several initial qualifications among 1483, 1484, 1484 and 1485) make the link between ISO8075 and AMS-QQ-P-35 / AMS2700.
Moreover, TR4661 table 9 gives some guidance as well, even though this TR is not directly called out by EN bearing standards we are talking about here.
    Thank you.
    Approved from my side.
    Regards Julien
