  1. Just a couple of queries:
    – No Issue number on the manufacturing route, as this is an MCR would this not be issue 2 at a minimum?
    – Would expect to see a certificate of conformance for the batch the testing was undertaken on for additional information as would expect St Cosme to have that data readily available?

  2. Please find my response to the two questions:

    • About the manufacturing route.
As indicated, not changing the issue could cause confusion.
The issue has been changed and is now “issue 1” the change is also indicated in the issue block on the bottom of the page.
The 1 is because a completely new Flow chart has been created for the subcontracting.
The date (top right) was changed from 28/07/2020 to 06/02/2023, so I had no problem with it. But formally the issue should have been changed.
In the report is a new Flow chart – EN3196-030 issue 1 043023 added.

    • About the CoC.
See my statement in the report “Substantiation by analogy”.
The Nut is a qualified product (PQ205), materials, designs and manufacturing processes is still identical and it is currently in production.
Due to a fire in the Howmet Surface treatment department (2019) the Silver plating process was outsourced and is now re-integrated as a Howmet Surface treatment in house process.

The Substantiation by Analogy in this Manufacturing Change can be used to reduce the amount of required testing.
See for the statements above the EN9133, point 8.1

So, the Nut itself is already qualified PQ205, ACP006 qualification #1324, date approval 21 Sep 2022.The only change in the production process is the reintegration of the surface treatment. The (measurement as “Substantiation by analogy”) data of the Nut itself can be found in the QTR report #1324, TR15058087 rev 2, EN3196-030 and the measurement values of the new surface treatment can be found in #1420, QTR 9280 _3050PH105_ EN3152_EN3196-030.
So, the answer on the second question is that St Cosme has the data regarding this Nut available and can be easily retrieved and a CoC in this case has no added value.

As an extra note of manufacturer: St Cosme can’t not give now a CoC because the part is not yet qualified so the system is blocked until the ACP008 qualification of the silver process has been approved by ASD-Cert.

    Kees
