Comments to EN 3035 Arconic Acceptance Test Report Nr 201902
1) Para B: Heat treatment requriements
Solution heat treatment 829°C ±14°C for 25min ±25Performed cycle: 829°C for 1h and 24min
Heat treatment performed at “Thermi – Garonee “ Temperature vs Time curve should this as well. Are there any evidence that the higher heating time ( more than 34min over the max. recommended time ) do not have any influence on the “Grain size” or of the performance of the material.
2) Para D; ISO 7689, para 5.4.4. specifies the “Recess Removal Torque”
The statement in the report called:
Recess removal torque test is needed for qualification only.
Could references be made to former reports where this test has been performed?Heinrich Hackmann

Good afternoon Mr. Hackmann,
1)As mentioned in the ATR the 1h24 duration is a furnace holding time and not a metallurgical time. There is no load thermocouple.
Furnace time is defined during the instalation’s industrial validation with an instrumented load of parts within the work zone ((load thermocuples installed at different locations).
They calculate the additional “lag time” that needs to be added and apply the needed furnace holding time to obtain a compliant metallurgical time.
Thermi-Garonne is NADCAP accredited society and qualified by numerous Aerspace OEM.
Moreover, ATR demonstrate that mechanical performances and metallurgical properties are not altered.
2) After some research on last qualifications the EN3035-060 have been initially qualified without recess removal torque test due to the fact that no couple is defined in the product definition.
Have a nide day.
Best regards
Accepted
